Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area

In 2011, the NTA published a Draft Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area. However, in the context of extremely constrained funding, many of the proposed projects and objectives could not be delivered.

Submission to OECD Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project

Dublin Chamber’s concerns about Action 6 have been echoed by Ireland’s business and professional community including Irish Tax Institute, Ibec, and KPMG. Dublin Chamber is concerned that, contrary to the intent of the OECD’s work on Action 6, the “Principal Purposes Test” and Limitation-on-Benefits clause will cause increased difficulty for small countries to compete fairly for investment.

Submission to NTA Fingal-North Transport Study

n this submission, Dublin Chamber responds to the National Transport Authority's study of transport solutions for the North Dublin/Fingal area. The Chamber lays out its overarching objective of an integrated transport system for Dublin that protects and boosts the city’s competitiveness. Increased investment is required to deliver this, such that the capital funding plan for Dublin is in line with other major cities across Europe. The potential for modal shift from private car should be a top priority, as well as improved journey times. Dublin Chamber considers Metro North and DART Underground to be absolutely vital to the city’s future.

Submission on Licensing of Outdoor Music Events

In this submission, Dublin Chamber puts forward a number of suggestions which would improve the legislative framework for the licensing of outdoor music and entertainment events:

The removal of the current three concert limit on Aviva Stadium and Croke Park,
The time taken to decide on whether a concert should be granted a licence must be compressed,
A traffic light system should be introduced for the licencing of all outdoor music events.
No tickets should be sold for an event before certain reasonable assurances are given that a licence will be granted,
Room for manoeuvre (i.e. the right to appeal) must be included when any licencing decision is made.

Dublin Chamber submitted to the National Transport Authority on the 'Swiftway' proposals (Swords to City Centre Bus Rapid Transit route).
