New Green Public Procurement Guidelines have recently been launched by the EPA, this shows a renewed public sector commitment to requiring green and sustainable credentials in the tendering process. Businesses need to avail of Green Public Procurement training to remain competitive. Green Public Procurement training, the first of its kind being provided to the private sector, will be delivered by Bid Services through the Dublin Chamber Sustainability Academy.

Green Public Procurement (GPP) is a process where public authorities seek to source goods, services or works with a reduced environmental impact. The Governments, Climate Action Plan and the EU's Green Deal will require every public body to have a climate mandate. A key element of such a mandate will be using public procurement to deliver change.

Therefore, all businesses will need to get up to date on how green public procurement will be part of their business development.
